John Menne, Director and Regional Manager, MetLife Real Estate Investments

John D. Menne is a Regional Director in the Real Estate Investments department of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. In this position, Mr. Menne has responsibility for managing the company’s Los Angeles office, which covers MetLife’s debt and equity portfolios totaling over $5.0B located in southern California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and Hawaii.

Mr. Menne joined MetLife in 1985 and has been directly involved in many facets of its real estate investments including debt and equity asset management, joint ventures, acquisitions and sales, and mortgage loan originations. He assumed his present position in January 2002.

He received his BS degree in agricultural economics from the University of California/Davis in 1980, and his MBA in agribusiness from the University of Santa Clara in 1981. Mr. Menne is a committee member of the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Bankruptcy Working Group.

He is also a full member of ULI, and has served in a variety of positions including Chair of ULI’s Los Angeles District Council, a member of the District Council Advisory Group and a member of ULI’s Leadership Group. He is currently a Vice Chair of ULI’s Program Committee and a member of the UDMUC Product Council. In addition, he is active with USC’s Lusk Center for Real Estate.

He and his family reside in Pasadena, CA.
