This ULI LA Case Study will examine the new wave of office development at Playa Vista. The panel discussion will focus on two mixed-use projects offered by Tishman Speyer and Lincoln Property Company, which together will ultimately result in over 3 million square feet of office, soundstage, and retail space located on approximately 79 Acres of land. The projects will also include community open space in the form of a 9-acre park.
Located on and around the former worldwide headquarters of Hughes Aircraft, Tishman Speyer's project is entitled for approximately 2.2 million square feet on 64 acres, including 11 historic buildings that are part of Hughes Industrial Historic District. Lincoln Property Company's project is situated on 15 acres of land and will consist of 950,000 square feet of office space.
Development executives from Lincoln Property Company and Tishman Speyer will be joined by representatives from the design and leasing teams working on the projects. Steve Soboroff will round out the panel with additional context on the overall master-planned Playa Vista community.
Join us from 6:00 – 7:00 PM for gourmet catered appetizers exquisitely prepared by Jennifer Naylor, former Executive Chef of Wolfgang Puck's restaurant in Malibu, Granita. 15th Annual ULI Conference
Reinventing Retail: Community, Mixed-use, and Environment |
 |
February 14-15, 2008
Wilshire Grand Hotel
Los Angeles California
This year's Reinventing Retail conference focuses on how the world's most innovative developers are expanding their focus beyond the traditional shopping center to include niche markets such as low-income communities, deteriorated shopping strips, and downtowns (with a lot of emphasis being placed on mixed-use). To achieve success in all of these areas, new strategies will be needed to compete on price, or provide heightened shopping experiences to compete on lifestyle—or both! This unfolding scenario poses great challenges—but also offers great opportunities for traditional shopping centers and their communities as developers continue to energize their aging stock of traditional shopping centers and create exciting new mixed-use environments for shopping.
