YLG Education Forum on Finance

On Thursday, September 27, over 60 people attended the ULI Los Angeles Young Leaders Group's first-ever educational workshop, which focused on commercial real estate finance. The contents of the workshop were aimed at those people just beginning their careers in commercial real estate or those individuals unfamiliar with commercial real estate finance. The workshop opened with a presentation by Young Leader John Chun, who is investment director with Hanover Financial Company. Chun's PowerPoint presentation on commercial real estate finance will be available on the ULI LA Web site in October. His remarks were followed by a panel discussion that included Young Leaders Chris Gray, managing director, Emigrant Realty Finance; Rob Butchenhart, vice president, Lehman Brothers; and Peter Hillakas, vice president, Newmark Realty Corporation. The panel discussion was followed by an animated question and answer session. Special thanks to David Wong from Our Castle Homes, LLC who put this YLG program together.

This workshop will be the subject of ULI LA's monthly "Urban Living" column in the Los Angeles Times, on Tuesday, October 23. The YLG is now planning its second education workshop on sustainable development
