Michael Banner to be Next ULI LA ChairAugust 6, 2004ULI Los Angeles, a district council of the Urban Land Institute, has named Michael Banner as assistant chair. Banner will become chair of the district council, succeeding John D. Menne, on July 1, 2005.In making the announcement, Menne said, "I believe Michael's familiarity with urban renewal and development, his understanding of our district council's key initiatives, his success as chair of Urban Marketplace, and his numerous activities with the Institute all contribute to make him an ideal candidate to become our next chair when my term ends June 30, 2005. I am confident that with Michael's leadership, our district council is very well positioned to build upon its role as a leader in the Los Angeles real estate community." Banner also recently began a three-year term as trustee of the Urban Land Institute, the world's preeminent multidisciplinary real estate forum, and has been serving as an ULI Inner City Advisor. He was the 2004 chair of the ULI LA Urban Marketplace and the 2003 chair of the Urban Land Institute/Charles H. Shaw Forum on Urban Community Issues.
