Four California District Councils of the Urban Land Institute will host California's first summit on high-speed rail (HSR) TOD in partnership with the California High Speed Rail Authority, funded in part by a grant from the ULI foundation. The Summit will include case-study presentations, Technical Assistance Panel (TAP) presentations, and TOD workshops.
The goal of the Summit is to create a leading forum in which public and private land use and transit stakeholders can address TOD related challenges while setting an example for HSR TOD across the country. The core audience for this event will be 1) local planners and decision makers and 2) private development community.
Specifically, the event will:
1. Create a forum to share best practices of high-speed rail TOD planning, design and financing from around the globe.
2. Facilitate relationships and partnerships between stakeholders - the High-Speed Rail Authority, the Federal Government's Sustainable Partnerships initiative, other transit agencies, local planners and decision-makers, community leaders, and the development community.
3. Leverage ULI's resources to support planning and development initiatives. Specifically, ULI will sponsor a series of TAPs, which will study and present findings at the Summit on selected station areas from across the State.
