Sandy Throop serves as Director of Asset Management with responsibility for monitoring investment performance of joint venture real estate investment funds totaling approximately $400 million in value. In this capacity, Sandy coordinates with investment partners on major decisions, monitors the timely implementation of business plans, and oversees investment return distributions to investors. Over the last four years, Mr. Throop has closed and managed over 30 joint venture transactions totaling $650 million in value.

Mr. Throop has over 20 years experience in real estate investing and management. Before joining Babson, Sandy served as Director of Asset / Fund management at Hanover Financial Company. In addition to asset management duties, Sandy assisted in raising institutional fund capital and investment syndications, performed investor reporting duties, and served on investment approval committees. Sandy established Bank of America's South Charles Investment Corporation office operations in Los Angeles, and originating 18 investments and placing $85 million of SCIC capital throughout California and Arizona. He also managed the Bank of America's national REO unit that oversaw 2,500 assets valued at more than $700 million and produced over $350 million in annual property dispositions. Mr. Throop performed dispositions and acquisitions, and marketing operations for the master-planned community developer, The Newhall Land and Farming Company, and a publicly traded home-building company, Calprop Corporation.

Mr. Throop received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California-Santa Barbara in Economics and Environmental Studies.
