Technical Assistance Program |
About TAPOne of the Advisory Services offered is the Technical Assistance Panel (TAP) Program, organized by the District Councils. ULI Los Angeles has been at the forefront of the TAP program, offering the expertise of local ULI members to local government and non-profit entities in one-day panels. The TAP program guidelines are the same as those governing the Advisory Services Program:
To date, ULI Los Angeles has conducted TAPs for the Los Angeles Conservancy, the City of Culver City Redevelopment Agency, the City of Pasadena, and the USC Sustainable Cities Program. For more information about how a ULI Los Angeles Technical Assistance Panel might benefit your city or nonprofit organization, please contact Jonathan C. Curtis. How TAP can help a public agency or private companyTAP can provide a variety of services including, but not limited to:
Who serves on a TAP PanelA TAP Panel consists of volunteers from the over 2,000 ULI members in the Los Angeles District Council. Depending on the assignment, panel member expertise includes developers and owners, investors, professional service firms, financial institutions, public agencies and academics. If you are a ULI member and are interested in serving as a panelist on a TAP or other Advisory Services panel, please complete our Technical Assistance Panel Member Questionnaire. Cost of a TAP PanelThe ULI Los Angeles District Council charges a fee to cover the administrative cost and materials required for a TAP. Panel members volunteer their time and services at no cost. The sponsoring organization is required to cover all logistical costs (copying, meals, meeting room, supplies, etc.) and the costs of assembling relevant information about the assignment and the issue under consideration. TAP staff will assist the sponsor with suggestions and guidelines for these tasks. TAP Application and ScheduleTo apply for a TAP, contact ULI Los Angeles. ULI volunteers will arrange for an initial interview to understand and refine the assignment objectives and identify key issues to be addressed. Decisions regarding approval for a TAP are made shortly after final definition of a scope of the assignment. TAP assignments generally require a two- to three-month lead time to provide sufficient time to assemble the best available panel members, provide briefing materials, and plan the logistics and schedule of the TAP session. | |
