Elysian Valley – Marsh Street Park Marsh Street is the newest Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy / Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority LA River mini-park, with its initial phase opening April 2006. The first phase is about 1 acre (of a planned 5-acre park) and features native landscaping, children's play area and access to one of the nicest stretches of scenic soft bottom river. Directions
Bike: Located just downstream of the 2 Freeway on the unofficial bike path (actually an old access road - careful - some uneven surfaces!) just downstream from the end of the Glendale Narrows LA River Bike Path. Following on the tremendous success of the Young Leaders Group’s first public service event, the repainting of Chrysalis’ downtown headquarters, YLG will participate in FOLAR’s 18th Annual Great Los Angeles River Clean-up! Come out and get your hands dirty with fellow YLGers and other members of the Los Angeles community as we take part in this celebration of the Los Angeles River, a 52-mile waterway that extends from Canoga Park to Long Beach. This event is a great opportunity to meet other YLG members, help beautify a site along the River and learn more about this important civic asset, which has become a focal point for the City with the recent release of the Los Angeles River Revitalization Master Plan.
