ULI LA Executive Director Honored by City CommissionSeptember 21, 2000ULI LA Executive Director Susan H. Kamei received the "Woman of Courage" award from the Los Angeles City Commission on the Status of Women at its silver anniversary lunch on Thursday, September 21, 2000 at The Regal Biltmore Hotel.The "Woman of Courage" award is given annually in observance of Women's Equality Day commemorating the anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U. S. Constitution, which gave women the right to vote. Kamei was honored for her leadership and service in business, academia, and the community. Other 2000 honorees included former U. S. Representative and now County Supervisor Yvonne Braithwaite Burke and Dr. Cynthia Telles of UCLA's department of psychiatry. | |
